No One Gets to Heaven With a Plane....

It is like no time has passed.  That morning I was in honor's earth science class at Patuxent High School.  We were told not to leave the classrooms.  I've never experienced something like that day before and I wasn't even in the state it happened in.  We watched the news on a small television in the corner of the room as the twin towers went up in smoke.  Those were the towers that my brother and I saw every time my family went to visit my dad's side in MA.  We'd pass through New York on the way up and usually my brother and I were sleeping in the back or playing our Game Boy...dad would say "hey, guys look, the twin towers".  They were huge....the centerpiece of the New York skyline.  I had seen them every year in the car ride up...and now I was watching them be destroyed.

Some people have turned to blame religion but I will fight that idea until the day I die.  Religion isn't the enemy.  Religion was a tool used by people who were using others as a means to an end.  I believe people are problem.  People who kill in the name of anything is wrong.  If we didn't have religion, we'd still have political idealogies.  If we didn't have politics, we'd come up with some other thing to kill in the name of.  But much like the people who were hurt by this, to those who did the hurting; no amount of murder will help you see God.  I believe in one God and He does not let people come to see Him based on the number of people who they kill.

So I to write a song about this subject.  The song is called "No One Gets to Heaven on a Plane".  The way to heaven isn't by blowing other people up, I know that.  I believe in the God of the bible, and his way to heaven is a gift, not a matter of trying to earn it.   So please, have a listen, share this with a friend and tell me what you think.

No One Get's to Heaven on a Plane:

At 9 in the morning

In the middle of school

They locked us in the classrooms

and turned on the news

Captured in color

By a dozen camera crews

Snow white faces

Under coal colored plumes

While people were choosing

between the pavement or the smoke

The teachers told us

We’d all be going home

The only thing we were sure of at the end of the day

Was no one gets to heaven with a plane

Up in the air

They told the passengers be calm

If everyone sat quietly

No one would be harmed

The soaring bird aligned

With the wounded tower’s twin

The pilots yelled a name as they flew it in

Up ’til then we’d never seen a worse abuse of faith

No one gets to heaven with a plane

There’s only one way in

You can’t hop the gate

You can’t weaken it’s walls

By going up in flames

If anybody thinks that they can find another way

Go and find God first before you do things in His name

No one goes to heaven with a plane

No one gets to heaven with a plane

No one gets to heaven with a plane
